Financial Services Commission of Ontario

The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) oversees the insurance and pension industries in Ontario, and is responsible for licensing, compliance and enforcement (through the Financial Services Tribunal). [1] [2] [3]

Established in 1998 through the merger of the former Ontario Insurance Commission, Pension Commission of Ontario, and Deposit Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance (Ontario), the taxpayer-funded agency is also responsible for credit unions, loan and trust companies, mortgage brokers, co-ooperative corporations.
